But our quality of life is also determined by subjective aspects and even by all the little things we do every day. And rituals we all have. Some we do consciously, others unconsciously. Some make us strong, others take away our energy.

The same applies to a relationship. The mutual trust, the intimacy and the passion are the sum of what we continuously, together with our partner, invest in our relationship.
With these four simple daily rituals you can certainly make a difference.

  1. Kiss each other
    It may sound a bit old-fashioned, but a real and mean passionate kiss is still the best way to show that you love someone. Make eye contact and then enjoy the kissing moment. It keeps the passion and intimacy alive.

  2. Communicate even when you are stressed
    By talking, you can remove any insecurities and you can reassure your partner about what is going on inside you. In this way, you also make it easier for him/her to show understanding for your situation, to help you, or to create the atmosphere you need at that moment.
    Sometimes, and especially when you have problems or are very stressed, you need to take the time to share your thoughts or the situation with your partner. Even if you don't feel like it right away or you fear losing time. The encouragement and support you'll get make it more than worth it.
    In any case, it is important that you know what is happening in your partner's life, but it is also a must that you understand and support each other, that you are there for each other and on the same wavelength.
  3. Give a compliment
    Everyone likes to get a compliment sometimes, but the feathers that come from your dearest are the most gratifying. Giving your partner a compliment is the ideal way to boost his/her self-confidence and make him/her feel special. At the same time, it brings spontaneity and variety to your relationship through the surprise effect. It can be about something obvious or something small such as a flattering outfit or a tasty dish, but it can also be more subtle and have to do with being a good mother / father, a nice evening or night together ... It can be related to the present but also to something from the (recent) past.
    If by nature you are not the complimentary type or do you find it difficult to compliment in a conversation? Then a text message is a valid alternative. Giving a compliment is not easy for everyone and it must be sincere anyway.
  4. Laugh together
    By laughing, your body releases hormones that make you feel good. If you laugh with your partner, it will be easier to anchor and associate that good feeling with him/her.
